Lorraine Stanley is starring in the new feature film Departures. In a recently released video, Janet is shown comforting her son after his breakdown. However, she is nowhere near perfect. The snippet features her having a wine bath and openly yearning for grandchildren.
Also, the actress is to showcase the eccentric side of a working-class mother. The woman is trying to deal with her son’s struggles. The main character will get dupmed. After which, he spirals into addiction.
It is self-financed by a collective of working-class LGBTQI+ filmmakers from Manchester. The film is all set for a national cinema release. And it’s accompanied by special Q&A screenings, hosted by famous figures. This includes Russel Tovey and Danny Beard to celebrate its independent success.
Lorraine Stanley’s Final Stint In EastEnders
Lorraine played Karen Taylor on the BBC soap. Three years ago she was axed from the soap after seven years. Her character Karen took the blame for a staged kidnapping plot involving Albie Watts. Later, she fled to Spain with Mitch Baker and some money stolen from Phil Mitchell.
But soon Karen made a surprise return. She arrived to investigate Keanu’s disappearance. She was unaware that he had been murdered on Christmas Day. Then one day the floor of the cafe collapsed. And Keanu’s body was finally found. Bernie broke this news to Karen in Spain. Confronting Sharon Watts, Karen banned her from the funeral. She also accused her of leading Keanu to his death.
However, the residents believed that Dean Wicks had murdered Keany. Hence, Karen visited him in prison. But he claimed that Linda was lying about him being at the scene. She next confronted Linda Carter. However, Bernie and Callum Highway said she was lashing out in grief.
