Coronation Street viewers have been convinced for weeks that Gary Windass and Sarah Platt are hiding something. Now, the latest episode has added even more fuel to the mystery.

Sarah And Gary’s Secret Gets Harder To Hide
Gary Windass has been under pressure ever since Theo Silverton’s murder investigation began. DC Kit Green has made it clear that Gary is one of the people he suspects the most.
In Sunday’s episode, Kit questioned Gary about Todd Grimshaw’s missing phone. The phone had been found in a pawn shop and was covered in Brody Michaelis’ fingerprints. However, Brody had already admitted that he found the phone in the skip outside the builder’s yard. Because of that, Gary was able to explain the situation and answer Kit’s questions.
Even so, Kit was not ready to let the matter go. Sarah Platt soon overheard him speaking to DS Lisa Connor-Swain on the phone about his suspicions. Concerned about what Kit might discover, Sarah quickly arranged to meet Gary in private.
When they met, it became obvious that both of them knew something important. The show did not reveal exactly what they were talking about, but their nervous behaviour suggested that they were keeping a big secret.
A Surprise Interruption Changes Everything In Coronation Street
Before Gary and Sarah could talk properly, Maria Connor unexpectedly arrived home. Sarah quickly hid while Gary tried to distract Maria and get her out of the flat before she noticed anything unusual.
Gary later convinced Maria to join him for dinner at the Rovers. While they were there, Todd Grimshaw arrived with worrying news. He revealed that Summer Spellman, who is currently waiting for trial over Theo’s murder, had been taken to hospital.
Todd was furious as he spoke to Kit about the situation. He explained that Summer had deliberately switched off her insulin pump so she could get out of prison. As the conversation continued, Gary looked increasingly uncomfortable and eventually stepped outside for some fresh air.
Sarah soon joined Gary outside, giving them another chance to speak alone. It quickly became clear that whatever they are hiding has been weighing heavily on him. Gary admitted to Sarah that he “doesn’t know how much more he can take” and that he “can’t do this anymore”.
