If you don’t follow, the actor has kept the comeback rumors swirling with his unfiltered interactions on social media. Similarly, Kin again took center over his status on the ABC soap. Is he returning?
General Hospital: Kin Shriner’s Future Revealed!
The General Hospital star took to X/Twitter to post the anniversary of Luke and Laura’s wedding. Unsurprisingly, fans went crazy and wondered if the actor would reprise his role of Scott Baldwin. Are you ready for a heartbreak? Kin straight up replied, “No plans,” disappointing fans who were holding onto the hope of seeing him again.
For those not in the loop, Shriner’s history with GH is as iconic as the show itself. The soap icon first took on the role of Scott in 1977. Moreover, Kin’s craft was something else, and he soon became a mainstay in Port Charles. He continued to sprinkle magic with his acting chops on and off until 1993. During his GH sabbatical, Shriner was sweating it out with multiple gigs.
These included a stint on the spinoff Port Charles and other soaps like CBS’s B&B and Y&R. Then, Kin once again graced the ABC soap in 2000 and stuck around for two more years. Since then, Scott has been a recurring character with his special spell in 2013.

Kin’s Last Stint in 2024
In May 2023, people felt crushed when Kin revealed that Scott had been axed. However, they remained hopeful as Scott continued to make occasional appearances. Most recently, the character landed himself in the thick of some legal drama in the August 2024 episode. Scott tried to save Ava’s pharmacist ally from Jason’s interference, and that’s it. It has been radio silence since then.
Meanwhile, Port Charles desperately needs legal muscle since Robert Scorpio’s out of town. Also, Diane is back on the market and can find love again with Scott. Earlier, Shriner admitted, “I have no control over anything that goes on at GH.” Still, anything is possible in true soap fashion, right?
