King Charles and Queen Camilla organised a reception for the members of the Firm. They were even joined by the Prince and Princess of Wales to mark a hundred years of regal legacy. Elsewhere, King Charles used the occasion to personally present centenary birthday cards to those who were born on the same day as his mother.
Also, a large birthday cake, decorated with a golden “100”, was cut to symbolise the historic milestone. Even Princess Catherine made a notable appearance in a lilac dress. It was a significant heirloom from the late Queen’s collection. Hence, it reflects the bond the two women shared.
The gathering also included the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and the Duke of Kent. For sure, the event was largely ‘nostalgic’. However, the family celebrated the life well-lived that King Charles described in his earlier broadcast message to the nation.

Earlier in the day, the King and Queen visited the British Museum. They wanted to view the final designs for a permanent memorial to Queen Elizabeth II. Elsewhere, a scale model of the project will be situated in St. James’s Park directly opposite the palace.

In fact, the design has a new bridge across the park’s lake. And it’s inspired by her wedding tiara, alongside a dedicated gate to honour Prince Philip.
