In fact, the local police officers find themselves stretched to the absolute limit trying to track the culprit. We also know that this escalating crisis is striking dangerously close to home for Sergeant David Langham.
The local police station receives multiple urgent reports regarding a string of nighttime ‘car break-ins’ around the neighbourhood. They try to focus on all available resources on securing the area. Despite that, the investigations stall because the elusive intruder leaves no viable physical evidence.
Meanwhile, the sergeant’s daughter Lacey Miller logs extra hours managing the local gym as Tane Parata slowly recovers from a brutal prison assault. Later, when the lone employee arrives for an early-morning shift, she is horrified to see the main entrance ‘forced open’. In fact, there were also suspicious noises echoing from deep within the dark premises.

However, now he is alarmed by the junior officer’s obsessive fascination with ‘firearms’. David now recognises the danger of an unstable individual having a badge.
