HAA/ Ricky and Brax are back!

BRAX IS BACK! Shock Return Sends Summer Bay Into a Spin in Home and Away

By Roy

After years of wondering what became of one of the most iconic couples of Home and Away, the pieces are finally falling into place. Hints from filming, updates from the cast, and that explosive 2026 promo all point to a major storyline on the horizon. Yes, it’s Brax and Ricky! Their re-entry is bringing back a new wave of drama that fans have been anticipating for almost a decade.

How Their Past Paves the Road Ahead

Darryl “Brax” Braxton made his mark back in 2011 when he arrived as the head of the River Boys, a gang from Mangrove River whose influence shaped the show for years. Although several new leaders like Rory Templeton and Gage Reynolds have appeared in recent years, both eventually ending up arrested, none have ever matched Brax’s impact on Summer Bay. That bond was tested when Ricky discovered Brax had accidentally killed Johnny Barrett and Adam had concealed it.

Not long after, Ricky learned she was pregnant but collapsed before telling him. Their story took its darkest turn when Brax escaped custody. His escort vehicle crashed, and Ricky was told he was dead. She rebuilt her life with Nate and accepted his proposal, but everything fell apart when she learned Brax was alive. Once Brax was exonerated in Dean’s case, he returned, and the couple finally left the Bay together to start a new chapter. Now, they’re both officially headed back to Home and Away.

Filming Moves West And Big Clues Follow

In July, producers announced that the show would film a special five-episode event in Western Australia for the first time in its history. Stephen Peacocke shared that returning as Brax felt like a fun opportunity and that shooting in WA’s outback made it even more exciting. Bonnie Sveen said she never expected to revisit Ricky. But she felt thrilled to dive back into the character ten years on.

By mid-October, filming began in Perth, with Makeup Head Laura Vazquez posting updates from the trip. Fans quickly spotted Stephen Peacocke and Ethan Browne filming together in the CBD, outside The Bell Tower. Although Tane’s involvement wasn’t officially confirmed, he commented earlier that he felt excited to bring the show to WA. Official photos released on 19 October showed Brax and Ricky in the WA outback wearing akubra hats.

The promo showed a peaceful life for them. They were surfing, having family time on the beach, and boating along the Queensland-style coastline while spotting kangaroos. But the tone changed when a blue car suddenly cut across a truck, and Ricky’s expression darkened. She told Brax that once someone had been a River Boy, the ties never fully disappeared.
