Bree finally opens up about the attack that left her fighting for her life. But just as she begins to talk about what really happened at Northern Districts Hospital, her condition suddenly takes a turn for the worse, leaving everyone fearing the worst once again.
The Day Everything Went Wrong
It all started when Bree and Jo were treating a patient named Bart, whose behaviour quickly got out of hand. During the check-up, he made an inappropriate move towards Jo, forcing the doctors to sedate him. But later, when Bree went back to finish his treatment, things turned violent. Without warning, Bart attacked her with a pair of medical scissors, stabbing her in the side. Bree fell to the floor, bleeding heavily and struggling to breathe.
She was rushed into emergency care as her colleagues tried to save her. Levi arrived moments later and realised how serious it was, her lung had collapsed, and blood was filling her chest. The team worked fast to insert a chest drain and keep her alive. At the same time, Sergeant David arrived to begin his investigation. Jo told him Bart had escaped right after the attack.
The Manhunt Across Summer Bay
While Bree was being treated in hospital, the search for Bart was already underway. Harper was walking baby Archie when she noticed a man covered in blood. Not knowing who he was, she asked if he was okay, but his strange behaviour scared her. Luckily, Tane appeared and immediately recognised Bart from one of the wanted posters. Staying calm, he distracted Bart while quietly telling Harper to move Archie’s pram away.
Once she was at a safe distance, Harper looked at the poster and realised, to her horror, who she had just spoken to. She quickly called Cash to report it. Cash and David reached the beach soon after and spotted Bart crouched near the water, trying to wash the blood off his hands. The moment he saw them, he panicked and ran straight into the ocean. With no time to think, Cash dived in after him while David called for backup.
Home and Away: Will Bree Survive?
Back at the hospital, Bree’s condition seemed to improve after the chest drain. Levi and Jo prepared for the next procedure when they heard shouting; Remi had arrived, demanding to see Bree. He was shaken after hearing what had happened, but Levi stopped him, explaining that Bree didn’t want to see him. Soon after, news spread that Bart had been caught. David returned to the hospital to take Bree’s statement.
Weak but determined, Bree began to describe what happened during the attack. But before she could finish. The monitors began to beep as her oxygen levels dropped. Levi rushed to her side, calling for help while the medical team tried to stabilise her. The room filled with panic once again as Bree struggled to hold on.
