At the same time, Remi faces the fallout of his drink-driving charge and makes a decision that stuns those closest to him. Meanwhile, Roo is left to pick up the pieces when Adrian walks away from Cohen, forcing her to step in as the boy struggles to make sense of his father’s absence.
Irene’s Send-Off Gets Moved Up
Plans for Irene’s farewell suddenly change when her leaving date is brought forward, leaving only three days for preparations. While John struggles with the idea of losing his closest friend, Dana gently encourages him to put his feelings into a speech, even if the words don’t come easily.
At the same time, Harper and Dana find themselves in a tough spot after hearing the news. With Irene’s house no longer an option, the sisters scramble to find a new place to live before the big departure.
Harper Returns to Tane’s Home
Dana notices the calmer mood between Harper and Tane and urges him to let her sister and Archie move back in. Tane agrees, and Harper accepts the offer for a temporary arrangement.
But Harper quickly begins to doubt whether living with Tane again is a wise decision. Despite her initial relief at having somewhere to go, the unease lingers.
Remi Faces a Driving Ban
Remi receives bad news when Cash informs him that his license has been suspended for three months due to drink-driving. The punishment leaves him frustrated and exposed.
Eden turns up at the police station to collect him and later dumps out all his alcohol, but Remi reacts defiantly and orders more. Struggling with his destructive ways, Eden decides to pour her energy into finding a wedding venue instead.
Irene Writes Her Farewell Notes
As Justin spreads word of Irene’s farewell party, Leah visits Irene’s now-empty home and shares a quiet moment with her dear friend. The emptiness of the house makes the moment even more emotional.
Later, Irene sits at her table and begins writing goodbye letters for her closest companions. By the time the party arrives, she’s amazed by the effort that’s gone into it, though she can’t help but notice that John is absent.
Remi Walks Away from the Bay
Dana tells Bree about Remi’s drink-driving, and Bree lashes out at him for being so careless. Her lecture pushes Remi over the edge.
Instead of listening, Remi packs his bags and announces he is leaving Summer Bay to stay with his parents. He admits he doesn’t know when or if he will return.
Sonny Makes His Move with Dana
Awkwardness fills the air at Tane’s, but Archie’s cries quickly break the tension. Harper takes this as a sign that it’s time for Dana to find her own place.
She hints to Sonny that he should consider helping Dana out, and Sonny later checks in with her. Though Dana doesn’t immediately catch on, he is already considering asking her to move in with him.
John Finally Delivers His Tribute
At the farewell party, Irene wonders why John hasn’t turned up. In truth, he sits alone in the Diner, ignoring Alf’s calls.
Justin eventually tracks him down and convinces him not to let grief keep him away. John arrives and delivers a heartfelt speech that makes clear just how much Irene has meant to him.
Irene’s Parting Gift to John
Theo and Justin perform a duet on stage while John and Irene share a dance. Meanwhile, Sonny chooses this moment to ask Dana to live with him, and she responds with a kiss.
Before leaving, Irene hands out her letters, thanking everyone for their love and urging them to keep celebrating. She then surprises John with tickets to meet her in Paris, assuring him this isn’t really the end.
Mali Confronts Abigail
As Mac and Levi continue their IVF journey, Abigail and Mali brainstorm ways to lift their spirits. But their conversation shifts when Mali points out Abigail’s messy habits, saying he ends up doing most of the housework.
Later, Abigail and Mali organise a beach picnic for Mac and Levi. The thoughtful gesture cheers the couple, who feel grateful for the support.
Adrian Pulls Back from His Plans
Over dinner at Roo’s, Adrian opens up to Cohen about the relatives he hasn’t yet met, sparking the boy’s curiosity. Cohen peppers him with questions, but Roo notices Adrian’s growing discomfort.
The following morning, Adrian changes his mind and tells Roo he won’t be taking Cohen to meet his family after all. He asks her to apologise to Cohen on his behalf.
David Extends a Hand to Lacey
David asks Lacey if she would consider moving into Irene’s old house with him and Jo, but she declines. He hands Theo a spare key in case she changes her mind.
Theo insists that Lacey misses her father and sister, encouraging David not to give up. His patience pays off when Lacey later agrees to let him show her around the home, hinting at a potential family reunion.
Eden Reaches Her Limit with Remi
After returning with Cash from securing a wedding venue, Eden’s thoughts return to Remi. She worries about his heavy drinking and self-destructive choices.
