So, here’s how it all began. About five years ago, George ended up in hospital with a bacterial infection in his foot, he’d gotten it from a reef cut while surfing. And guess who was working there at the time? Charlie Francis, the woman who would eventually become his wife.
Charlie was working in the hospital’s cardiac clinic when she met George. It was during peak COVID, so George wasn’t allowed visitors. But he messaged her anyway, asking if she’d drop by after her shift. She did, and the two of them ended up chatting for hours. Charlie later said it felt completely effortless, and they both just knew this was something special.
An Unconventional Wedding of Home and Away Star
Fast-forward to now, George and Charlie recently tied the knot in a dreamy countryside ceremony in Northern New South Wales. They picked a gorgeous venue called Fins at Plantation House in Kingscliff, and it looked straight out of a romantic film.
Charlie didn’t go the traditional route with her wedding look. Instead, she wore a super chic two-piece set by Bo & Luca, an Australian brand with Middle Eastern influences. Her outfit had a cropped top and flowy skirt, all covered in beautiful floral embroidery and little glass beads.

What makes their story even sweeter is how George poked fun at how they met, he joked about Charlie being the healthcare professional who cared for him while he was stuck in hospital. And now, five years later, here they are, married and happier than ever.
