A Heartbreaking Breakup Ahead
We all saw Tane survive a brutal prison assault and a risky induced coma. And now, when he returned to Summer Bay, he only found bitterness. When Tane decided to go on the run abandoning his legal fight it left a deep scar on those he loves most.
Tane wakes up to find Jo by his bedside. And the entire time, Jo had stayed by him during the medical crisis. However, Tane is unable to forgive her for admitting she felt overwhelmed by his prison stint. For him, Jo’s honesty about the bleak situation is likely to be rejected. Hence, he ends their relationship from his hospital bed.
Soon, a devastated Jo returns to Summer Bay. Meanwhile, Mackenzie is stunned by his all-or-nothing attitude towards Jo. However, it looks like he has made up his mind. He needed ‘unwavering’ support after his trauma, not someone who ever doubted their future together. Elsewhere, we also saw Mac’s loyalty towards him where she offered Tane the role of godfather to her child.
Harper Confronts Tane Over Abandonment In Home and Away
Later, the conflict intensifies when Harper arrives at the hospital. She is struggling to calm herself over Tane’s earlier decisions. In fact, Harper is deeply hurt that he chose to flee to Western Australia and skip bail abondoning their infant Archie.
But Tane says that his actions were meant to protect the boy from seeing his father behind bars. However, for Harper it was a selfish decision. Later, when she brings Archie for a visit the reunion joy is cut short by a heated argument.
Hence, she rails at Tane for disappearing from their lives. She makes it clear that dropped charges do not automatically earn him forgiveness. Even his friends at the surf club face his defensive words. It happens as he refuses John and Mali permission to reopen the gym in his absence.
