A Routine Gender Reveal Scan Takes An Ominous Turn
Mackenzie Booth will face a devastating emotional hurdle this week. As we know she is currently expecting a baby with cardiothoracic surgeon Levi Fowler. However the couple’s path to parenthood has been plagued by miscarriages and intensive IVF treatments already.
The trauma begins when sonographer, Magda, applies scanning gel. And when asked about the fetal heartbeat, she suddenly becomes uncharacteristically quiet. In fact, she gives a strained response and abruptly leaves the room to locate a senior colleague.
Later, Dr Sinclair enters the room to address the nervous parents. Also, we can say that this medical cliffhanger happens right after the business owner finally agrees to let Abigail Pinto and Harper Xiongh plan a baby shower and gender reveal party.
The bar owner was eager to discover the sex of the child. Hence, Mac heads to the appointment alone because a work emergency delays the expectant father. Thankfully, Levu arrives just in time for the procedure.
Emotional Trauma For Mac And Levi In Home and Away
We will see in the upcoming episodes that Mac will blame herself. Elsewhere, a supportive Tane Parata breaks some devastating news to the wider community. And in all this chaos, Mac will demand immediate space from loved ones before facing a long, difficult road toward emotional processing this June.

A recent promo also showed shots of the medical professional weeping in hospital scrubs. In another separate sequence, we saw a distraught partner crying on the beach.
Elsewhere, even Mali Hudson is seen putting his head in his hands on the phone after hearing the news. We have already seen Mac’s painful farmhouse miscarriage last September. And we aren’t ready to see another loss for the couple.
