Lacey is determined to learn the truth and starts scheming behind her father’s back. She then manipulates her sister, Jo, into helping her. She asks her to fake a panic attack. And this forces David to leave his office. After he left, she sneaks in and goes through his investigation notes.
Elsewhere, she clicks pictures of all the documents related to the councillor and the crash. By doing so, she has almost put herself in danger; however, she shows courage as she wants to learn the truth. Meanwhile, Councillor Wendell’s lawyer warns David to cease the investigation. He is also shouted at by his superintendent.
However, David has no idea about Lacey’s actions. And so he confided in Justin Morgan and expressed concern over the case. On one side, Lacey is collecting evidence, and on the other, her father is receiving external threats. It is from those who do not want the investigation to move forward.
Moreover, Lacey’s choices have strained her relationship with Theo Poulos. Theo gets shocked when he learns she had spent the night outside Councillor Wendell’s house. He also learns that she is planning to call him under a fake name. Theo warns her it’s a bad idea, but she stands firm.

Lacey is willing to go to any extent to uncover the truth. Not just this, she even tells Theo that she hit a dead end. And this happened when she was trying to secure a meeting with the councillor. However, it was a complete lie. Elsewhere, she even makes a blackmail threat over the phone.
Even Jo has supported her sister, but they are unaware of the risks involved. In case David finds out that the whole panic attack story was a made-up they will be in huge trouble. Lacey and Jo had their mother taken away from them in a car accident.
