Fans Criticise Logic Gaps

Fans of the BBC soap have been complaining about various plot holes and habits on social media. Viewers are confused about the layout of the Queen Vic as they question how many family members fit in the upstairs living quarters. They also pointed out that the pub has historically had four bedrooms.

However, the sheer number of residents, including Kat, Alfie, Big Mo and several children, makes the living situation feel impossible. Fans also pointed out that the residents rarely have friends or jobs outside of Albert Square. They also complain about the lack of CCTV in public spaces and the tendency for private conversation in crowded cafes is baffling.

EastEnders: The Slaters
EE/Fans question how so many members stay under one single roof.

Fans are also taking a dig at Johnny Carter. His recent storyline was about his main investor, Tim Walton. He had issued a sickening blackmail demand. Tim would delete incriminating footage of Callum breaking into his house on one condition.

And that was if Johnny would sleep with him. Despite hesitating, he eventually gave in to the coercion. He wanted to save his partner Callum, from a prison sentence anyway. However, fans have refused to accept his current personality. According to them, he is a nasty and pointless character.

What EastEnders Fans Are Saying On Reddit

A user shared, “I hate how every how is a Tardis. Kat, Alfie, Big Mo(doesn’t live there but sleeps there apparently), Zoe, Jasmine, The Twins, Tommy. Just how many rooms does the upstairs of a Victorian-style pub have? It’s like when there were about 15 people living in the Slaters house, they were all skint and couldn’t afford milk between them. Yet now Jean and seemingly Big Mo live there with Lily and Charli as the only two characters with any sort of wage, and everything is fine, apparently. I just don’t understand it. EastEnders always had some sort of realism.”

Another added, “The only thing they know to do with female characters is get them pregnant. Whether they’re 12 (Lily) or 50+ (Denise, Sharon..) They’re also really short-sighted with the storylines and then don’t know how to build the child/parenthood into it.” Meanwhile, a third commented, “Lack of CCTV in the Vic, or anywhere in the Square!”

EastEnders: Johnny Carter
EE/Fans dislike Johnny’s current personality.

“The geography: Essex is a full day trip away, Manchester is the other side of the world, and characters can hop to Spain and back whenever they feel like it. No one works outside of Walford, and going to other parts of London is a big deal,” said some.

Elsewhere, another said, “If a secret is discovered, instant blackmail.” Meanwhile, do you find anything annoying about the soap? Let us know in the comments section. For more EastEnders spoilers and updates, keep following Soap Opera Daily.
