Gary Windass has been part of Coronation Street for nearly two decades, but fans now fear his time on the soap could be coming to an end.
After the truth about Theo Silverton’s death finally came out, viewers are worried that Gary’s role in covering up the crime could lead to a shocking exit from Weatherfield.
The Truth About Theo’s Death Finally Comes Out
Gary Windass, played by Mikey North, first arrived on Coronation Street in 2008 with the rest of the Windass family, including his mum Anna. Since then, he has become one of the show’s most well-known characters.
Over the years, Gary has been involved in many major storylines. From difficult relationships to his battle with PTSD, he has faced plenty of challenges. More recently, he found himself caught up in the mystery surrounding Theo Silverton’s death.
For weeks, viewers watched as several characters came under suspicion. Theo was killed in April after his abuse of Todd Grimshaw was exposed, and Gary was one of the people many believed could be responsible.
This week, Coronation Street finally revealed what really happened. Flashback scenes showed that Sarah Platt was the person who killed Theo. The scenes revealed that Sarah hit Theo over the head with a metal pole while they were on top of some scaffolding. Theo then fell over the edge and crashed to the ground below.
After realizing Theo was dead, Sarah panicked and called Gary for help. Gary came to her rescue and helped her hide what had happened. The pair have been keeping that secret ever since. Now that the truth is out, fans believe Gary could face serious consequences for helping Sarah cover up the crime.
Coronation Street Fans Worry Gary Could Pay The Price
Many viewers have already started sharing their fears online. Some think Gary could end up in prison because of his involvement. But others worry this storyline could mark the end of his 18-year run on the soap.
On a Coronation Street Facebook fan page, one viewer wrote: “Sarah and Gary better not get found out or go to prison. I don’t want them to go.”
A third person added: “No not Gary!!!” Meanwhile, another viewer suggested a possible twist, writing: “Unlikely but he might take the wrap? And say it was him!” Speaking recently about Sarah’s future, Tina O’Brien admitted prison is a real possibility. She said: “Yeah, absolutely she could be going to prison this time.
“But to cover it up, she knows that she crossed a line that she can’t come back from.” Now, fans are now waiting to see whether the truth will catch up with them. Stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily for more Coronation Street spoilers and behind-the-scenes updates.
