Max Branning Has Split The Audience

Many fans have been feeling frustrated by Max’s habit of prioritising flings over his own children. In fact, viewers are also pointing out his repetitive excuses, often blaming his past for current mistakes.

EE/Fans slam Max.

Hence, fans believe that his manipulative nature makes him a great heel for the show. We all saw how he wanted to reunite with Linda. And especially after he learnt that he is the biological father of Annie. Hence, he made several attempts to romance Linda. However, she made it clear that they were ‘better’ off as co-parents.

But soon Linda realised her true feelings, but then came a twist. She saw Max sharing a ‘passionate’ kiss with Cindy Beale. Recently, Max risked his life to save Cindy from the burning wreckage. Hence, fans want to know if the Branning patriarch will ever stick to one and stop playing around.

What EastEnders Fans Are Saying On Reddit

A user said, “Seriously, this guy is so overrated it’s laughable. Apart from the looks, his persona and all of the drama, what exactly does he bring to the show? His main storylines are just sleeping around with anyone with a pulse and getting into a bit of bother with the police/family.”

The user added, “Seriously though how the hell are you going to only be back for a few months and already get with Zoe, nearly Stacey, Linda, Cindy and not to mention flirting with every single woman in the show lmao.” A third shared, “I can’t stand him either but the actor himself seems quite funny and I’m enjoying seeing more light-hearted scenes with Lauren and Oscar.”

Meanwhile, someone else commented, “I don’t dislike him, but I’m very disappointed that there doesn’t seem to be any growth in his character, which was what I was hoping for in his return. The Branning dynamic is fantastic, and clearly Jake, Jac and Pierre work well together, so I was hoping for more family storylines.

Instead, it’s all about him getting his leg over and his latest love interest again. Meanwhile, do you enjoy Max’s character? Let us know in the comments section. For more EastEnders spoilers and updates, keep following Soap Opera Daily.
