Jodie Ramsey has already caused plenty of trouble in Coronation Street, but things are about to get even messier. After her shocking plan involving David Platt completely failed, she now finds herself going head-to-head with Cassie Plummer. The timing could not be worse either, as Cassie’s “explosive” exit from the soap has already been teased.
Jodie’s Revenge Plan Falls Apart
Jodie came to Weatherfield with one clear goal. She wanted revenge on Shona because she believed her sister abandoned her with their abusive father when they were children. Jodie planned to destroy Shona’s life from inside the Platt family home.
But over the past few months, Jodie became distracted by all kinds of strange behaviour. Last week, things finally spiralled out of control. Jodie found an old letter she had sent to Shona years ago. Shona had always claimed she never received it. After reading it, Jodie became convinced that Shona never wanted a relationship with her at all.
Hurt and angry, Jodie decided to take things further. She dressed in Shona’s lingerie, lit candles in the bedroom, and waited for David Platt to come home drunk from Swarla’s wedding. David climbed into bed thinking it was Shona and kissed Jodie.
However, the truth quickly came out. David was furious and accused Jodie of trying to seduce him. Sarah Platt also believed David, and despite Jodie trying to talk her way out of trouble, the family threw her out of the house.
Jodie Starts A New Feud With Cassie
Even after getting exposed, Jodie refuses to back down. In upcoming episodes, she tries to stay in Weatherfield by putting doubts into Shona’s head about what really happened between her and David.
At the same time, Jodie ends up making another dangerous enemy. She clashes with Cassie Plummer, who already has a dramatic exit storyline coming up on the soap.
Coronation Street producer Kate Brooks recently teased what viewers can expect from Cassie’s departure. She said, “As you know, Cassie’s leaving us, and so it will contribute to her exit, which is going to be massive and quite explosive.”
Cassie has tried to change her life after struggling with drug addiction, but viewers know she still has a wild side. She previously shocked fans when she secretly drugged Ken Barlow’s drinks because she was scared of losing her job as his carer. That history makes her upcoming fight with Jodie even more interesting.
Daniel Warns Jodie About Cassie
The trouble starts outside the Kabin when Cassie refuses to buy sweets for Bertie and Dorin. Jodie sees the situation and immediately gets involved. She takes a swipe at Cassie and suggests that she is too old to look after young children. Furious, Cassie storms off.
Later, Jodie tells Daniel Osbourne all about the argument. However, Daniel quickly warns her that she may be messing with the wrong person.
Daniel reminds Jodie about how Cassie drugged Ken in an attempt to get money from him. He warns her that she is “playing with fire” by starting trouble with Cassie.
Now viewers are left wondering just how far this feud will go. With Cassie’s exit set to be “massive and quite explosive,” many fans will be asking whether Jodie could end up being the reason she leaves the Cobbles for good.
