Amid this, the soap watchers learned that he is Lewis’s biological father. Kev came back this year amid Lewis’s kidnapping. Ross learned that Kev had Penny, which could help in rescuing Lewis. He knocked him down and gave Penny to the kidnapper. Later, Kev went to meet Lewis with the intention of telling the truth.
Though Ross told Kev to go, he sang Father and Son, revealing the truth to Lewis, who was shocked and bemused. He wanted him to go away. However, Kev didn’t step back. He changed his business name and his surname from Townsend to Barton. Though Lewis was upset first, he understood his father later, who told him that he wanted to free him from his past.
