Charley Webb played the role of Debbie Dingle from 2002 to 2021. Meanwhile, Daniel Harmer, who appeared in The Story of Tracy Beaker and its many sequels, disclosed a big secret. She said she auditioned for the role of Debbie Dingle in Emmerdale. In a TikTok video, the actor spoke about her career. She disclosed that before playing Tracy in her current show, she almost got the role of Debbie Dingle.
Daniel Harmer appeared on Strictly Come Dancing in 2012. She said it feels weird to think of herself in Emmerdale. She said she got far for that role, but didn’t get it because she wasn’t from the North. The actor added she was right for the role. However, things could have been different.
Furthermore, Harmer also auditioned for one of the leads in another children’s classic show, My Parents Are Allies. Though she was one of the final two being considered, she didn’t get the role. However, she landed the leading role of Tracy Beaker a year later.

However, eventually they chose the American actor, Emily Osment. She was already a part of the Disney series. Daniel Harmer said things could have been different if she had landed the role of Debbie Dingle in Emmerdale or Lily in Hannah Montana. However, Everything happens for a reason.
