Meghan Markle may soon return to the U.K. with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. It’s happening just days after Prince Harry arrived in Britain alone. The reported trip would be a major one for the Sussex family. It could mark their first royal visit to England together in four years.
Meghan And The Children Are Expected To Join Harry
According to The Telegraph, Meghan is expected to travel to the U.K. later this week with Prince Archie, and Princess Lilibet. However, Meghan and the children are not expected to make any public appearances. A spokesperson for the Sussexes did not comment when PEOPLE reached out.
If the trip happens, it will be the first time the full family has visited England since 2022. Back then, Harry and Meghan traveled from California with their children for events. It marked Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee, which celebrated her 70 years on the throne. The couple has lived in California since stepping back from royal duties in 2020.
The new report comes after days of questions about the family’s travel plans. Harry arrived in the U.K. alone on July 6 after vacationing in Europe with Meghan and their children. The family had reportedly planned to travel together. But it was announced over the weekend that Meghan, Archie and Lilibet would not join Harry in London because of security concerns.
Harry Reportedly Rushed To Arrange Private Security
However, the door was still open for Meghan and the children to visit other parts of the U.K. outside London. Then, on July 8, The Mirror reported that Harry was “frantically” working to arrange private security so his wife and children could make the trip.
Their reported return could also create the chance for Archie and Lilibet to reunite with their grandfather, King Charles. Archie was born in the U.K., while Lilibet was born in California after the family moved to the United States. Lilibet is believed to have met Charles only once, during her only previous visit to Britain in 2022.
A source told PEOPLE at the time that then-Prince Charles and the future Queen Camilla were very happy to spend time with the children. “It was a fantastic visit. The prince was delighted to see his grandson and meet his granddaughter for the first time,” a royal source said at the time.
The source added, “It was very special to have some time with him. He hadn’t met Lilibet, his granddaughter, and so to meet her for the first time was very emotional. It was a wonderful thing.”
Security Concerns Have Long Kept The Royal Family Away
The reported visit comes a year after Harry spoke about why he felt unable to bring his family back to Britain. He told the BBC he “can’t see a world” in which he would return with Meghan and the children without the police protection he has long tried to get back.
Harry and Meghan lost their taxpayer-funded security in Britain after stepping down from royal duties in 2020. A review of Harry’s security by the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures, known as RAVEC, is still ongoing.
Despite the family rift, Harry told the BBC last year that he “would love reconciliation with my family.” Since moving to the United States in 2020, he has returned to the U.K. many times for charity work and court cases. He last met his father in person in September 2025.
Harry’s latest trip also comes one year before the next Invictus Games, which will take place in Birmingham, England. Now, the reported arrival of Meghan, Archie and Lilibet could make the visit even more important. Especially if it gives King Charles another chance to spend time with his grandchildren.
