Miley Cyrus is turning heads with her music. The singer recently collaborated with Beyonce and won her first-ever Grammy for ‘Flowers.’ However, this time, it’s about the 70s band Talking Heads. The Flowers singer just dropped a cover of Talking Heads’ 1977 hit record Psycho Killer. This latest track is a part of a rendition of the Everyone’s Getting Involved: A Tribute to Talking Head’s Stop Making Sense.
It’s a compilation album tribute to the iconic new wave band. The album was dropped at midnight on Friday, May 17, and it’s available to stream now. A24’s A Tribute To Making Head’s Stop Making Sense consists of 16 tracks featuring The National’s version of Heaven.
The album also features Thank You For Sending Me an Angel, Life During Wartime, Found a Job, Slippery People, This Must Be The Place, Burning Down the House, Swamp, What A Day That Was, Once in a Lifetime, Genius of Love, Making Flippy Floppy, Girlfriend is Better, Take Me To The River, and Crosseyed and Painless.
Not only this, but the album also features some renewed artists like Blondshell, DJ Tunez, Jean Dawson, Kevin Abstract, Toro y Moi, girl in red, The Cavemen, BADBADNOTGOOD, Lorde, Teezo Touchdown, The Linda Lindas, and El Mato a un Policia Motorizado.
Miley Cyrus Has Already Hinted At Her Potential Project Earlier This Year
Well, Miley Cyrus previously covered the Psycho Killer at the Chateau Marmont in LA in March. It was an intimate performance, and the fans captured the video. She started the performance by telling the audience, “If you know this song, this is the regular part.”
The Prisoner singer’s performance was mesmerizing as she added her upbeat pop music to the iconic song. Miley also sings with her signature rasp, “Psycho killer, qu’est-ce que c’est? Run, run, run, run, run, run away.”
But before performing the song, the pop star worked with Talking Heads co-founder and guitarist David Byrne. She performed Byrne’s Everybody’s Coming to My House, and David Bowie’s Let’s Dance during her annual New York’s Eve Special 2023.
In addition, Miley Cyrus’s song is a charged-up version of the original single. While her song gives all the pop vibes, the album heavily features ’80s synth sounds, faded vocals, and a party-esque vibe.
Miley’s Other Projects
Besides this, Miley dropped her first single of 2024, Doctor (Work It Out), in March. Pharrell Williams produces the song. Not only this, but Miley also collaborated with Beyonce’s latest Cowboy Carter country album. The singers sang the track II Most Wanted.
After the album’s release, Miley wrote a heartwarming message to Beyonce. She said she loved Beyonce before getting an opportunity to meet and work with her. She also thanked Beyonce and stated, “You’re everything & more. Love you. To everyone who spent time making this song so special thank you from the bottom of my heart. Sincerely, Miley.”
Miley Crysus’s Stop Making Sense, a tribute album, is available on Apple Music. So, don’t miss it. This is all for now. Stay with Soap Opera Daily for more such updates.
