By Roy

Mollie Gallagher may be saying goodbye to Coronation Street, but she is already preparing for a completely different challenge.

The actor has landed a major stage role in a UK tour of The Silence of the Lambs, where she will perform alongside two well-known soap stars in a production that is far removed from her time as Nina Lucas.

Mollie Gallagher Lands A Big New Stage Role After Coronation Street Exit

Coronation Street fans recently learned that Mollie Gallagher is leaving the ITV soap, bringing an end to Nina Lucas’s journey after seven years on the Cobbles. The news disappointed viewers, especially those who had hoped Nina and her close friend Asha Alahan would finally get their long-awaited romantic reunion.

Mollie first joined Coronation Street in 2019 as Nina, the long-lost niece of Roy Cropper. Roy discovered he had a brother named Richard, and after Richard’s death, Nina moved to Weatherfield to live with her uncle. She soon became an important part of Roy’s Rolls and built strong relationships with many residents.

Nina also featured in some of the soap’s biggest storylines. One of the most memorable came when she and her boyfriend Seb Franklin became victims of a brutal hate crime inspired by the real-life murder of Sophie Lancaster.

Corey Brent and his gang attacked the couple simply because of Nina’s alternative goth appearance, making it one of Coronation Street’s most emotional stories.

Mollie Will Play Clarice Starling Alongside Two Familiar Soap Faces

Instead of the streets of Weatherfield, Mollie will soon step into the world of psychological horror. She has been cast as Clarice Starling in the stage version of The Silence of the Lambs.

Clarice is the talented but troubled FBI agent who teams up with the infamous cannibalistic serial killer Hannibal Lecter while trying to catch another murderer known as Buffalo Bill.

CS/ Mollie Gallagher shared cast list

Johnny Partridge, best known for playing Christian Clarke in EastEnders, will play Hannibal Lecter. Fans will remember Christian for his memorable relationship with Syed Masood. Oliver Farnworth, who played Emmerdale serial killer John Sugden, has joined the cast as Clarice’s mentor Jack Crawford.

Meanwhile, Sam Jackson, known for Channel 4’s Skins, will take on the role of Buffalo Bill. Johnny also shared the play’s teaser on Instagram after it was originally posted by @sotlplay.
