Prince Harry and Meghan Markle shook the world when they dramatically stepped away from the Royal Family back in 2020. The couple stepped down from active royal duties and left the UK to find a new home in the US. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been living in California ever since, and now claim it as their forever home. One they now also share with their children – Prince Archie, and Princess Lilibet.
Despite threats of being expelled from the US, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are resolute to continue their residence in California, claim several sources. They have no plans to leave their California home and are prepared to fight any deportation attempts, Express.co.uk is reporting. “There are no plans for the Sussexes to move from the US,” a well-placed source claimed.
Another source revealed to the media that Harry and Meghan feel at home in California, and they won’t be leaving there without a fight. “They have a very good legal team, and they have a lot of support behind them to ensure that they will be able to remain in the United States,” they further added. The Prince is currently battling legal proceedings over his US immigration status.
Previously, Harry has claimed in his memoir- Spare, that in the past he has indulged in substance abuse such as – cocaine, cannabis, and psychedelic mushrooms. The Prince admitted that the drug use could become grounds for his visa application to be denied. However, The Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank, argues that Harry’s previous history with drugs should have barred his US entry.
Later, a judge recently ruled that Harry’s visa application will remain confidential. However, the winds are changing in the US. So, things could drastically change for Harry as well with Donald Trump coming into power. After all, the President-elect had remarked earlier this year that he might consider deporting Harry over issues regarding his US visa status.
“I wouldn’t protect him. He betrayed the Queen. That’s unforgivable. He would be on his own,” Trump had stated at the Conservative Political Action Conference in February. Some sources claim that Trump’s presidency has sent the Sussex’s in a “spin.” Meanwhile, some other sources claim that the couple is not fazed. They also added that Harry and Meghan are prepared to fight, and moving is not an option.
