The classic feud between the royal brothers, Prince William and Harry, seems to be hitting a higher note. According to recent reports, the Prince of Wales has expressed a desire for his estranged brother not to be present at his future coronation. He wants his ceremony to look and feel different, which can only happen if Harry is not around. However, King Charles has different thoughts on the matter. What are they? Read on to find out!
William Wants Harry To Be Absent From His Coronation
The estranged royal brothers are yet again making controversies with their feelings about each other. Prince William does not wish to have his younger sibling Harry at his coronation, a Sunday Times article has revealed. Royal fans know that the father-of-three will take over the throne after his father, King Charles’ death. And now, he wants his coronation ceremony to ‘look and feel different.’

This comes after William’s friends claimed that he would not want his brother at his crown and said, ‘They are estranged, which is dreadfully said.’ They also alleged that the estranged siblings have not spoken in ‘nearly two years.’
We know that this all began when Harry stepped down from royal responsibilities in 2020 and moved to the US with his wife and kids. After leaving the UK, Harry notoriously aired his family’s dirty laundry on several platforms which includes Oprah’s interview, Netflix series and his tell-all memoir, Spare.
After all this, Harry has not just been away from his brother but also their father, who ascended to the throne following Queen Elizabeth II’s death in 2022. “The problem for the King and other members of the family is the worry that if they have a chat with Harry, it will appear in ‘Spare’ volume two,” said one of Charles’ friends. “How do you regain the trust? I don’t think Harry ever can.”
However, the friend also reflected on his conversations with Charles; he said that their relationship is not irreparable. He continued, “The king’s capacity to forgive his son is undimmed. There are other members of the royal family who are much more weighted against Harry; that’s the problem.” One of Harry’s closest friends similarly slammed the Duke of Sussex’s decision to turn on his family with Oprah, Netflix and the book.
Last month, Harry addressed his strained relationship with his family and blamed their unwillingness to fight against the press for their falling out. During an interview, he said, “I think that’s certainly a central piece to it.”
