The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have made a bold move that might help in mending the royal rift while looking out for their kids’ future —Archie and Lilibet. The estranged royal couple bought a house in Portugal recently, which might help them incorporate a European lifestyle into their kids’ upbringing. Read on to know more about it.
Prince Harry and Meghan have reportedly been trying to end their children Archie and Lilibet’s sad divide from their grandfather and uncle, Prince William. According to BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond, the couple’s recent decision to get property in Portugal might be a move to mend the feud between them and the royals. While speaking to OK!, Bond said, “It can only be good for the children to mix with at least some of their royal cousins.”
She also highlighted that it will be saddening for Archie and Lili if they grew up without learning that they’re a part of one of the most famous families in the world. It should be noted that Harry’s kids have not spent much time in the UK, and they are sixth and seventh in line to the throne. They have also never gotten to spend time with their royal cousins either. Bond went on to claim if the pair moves to Portugal, it will bring them closer to royals.

In addition, this will definitely strengthen Archie and Lilibet’s relationship with Prince Harry’s side of the family. “They are estranged from almost all of them. To know that their grandfather and uncle were both Kings, and they didn’t know them,” a royal expert said. Residing at a new property in Portugal will also allow the children to experience European culture and get to know their family.
“It may well be that with Donald Trump back in the White House, Harry and Meghan might spend more time in their Portugal house, at least in the school holidays,” Jennie added.
