We all saw Ian last time, gasping and opening his eyes during the final ambulance ride. The evil man confirmed that he isn’t dead, so the door for his return is wide open. In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, Wise claimed that he’d love to come back again.
When Ian was shot on The Young and the Restless, it appeared to be the end for the notorious villain. But as he opened his eyes the last time, he proved he hadn’t quite reached the end of his nine lives. Viewers have been wondering what really happened to Ian, and it looks like even Ray wasn’t sure about it.

“And I don’t know where I went. If I went back to jail, or if I went into the hospital, in the ICU, or if I escaped the ambulance somehow. If I pulled a Hannibal Lecter kind of a thing. And disappeared into the woods only to surface a year or two later with a beard and long hair,” Wise said. Since the Newmans also have no idea about Ian getting away. So it is completely possible that he was able to keep his survival under wraps.
Regardless, there are many more stories where Ian can come back which will bring Ray Wise back to our screens in action. The popular soap star also hoped that his talented scene, Colleen Zenk makes a comeback as Jordan.
