Michael Keating’s Most Iconic Roles
The British entertainment industry is mourning Michael Keating after he passed away at age ‘79’. We can say that the actor was celebrated largely for his incredibly diverse career spanning over 5 decades. And how to forget that Michael used to bring charisma to every production he worked on.

But there was one particular project that secured him a permanent place in television history. And it’s the BBC science fiction masterpiece Blake’s 7. He played the lock-picker and faint-hearted thief Vila Restal. Michael was the only central cast member to appear in all 52 episodes across the show’s initial 4 season run.
Later, he also entered the expansive Doctor Who universe. He starred with Tom Baker’s iconic Fourth Doctor in the multi part serial The Sun Makers. We then saw him in Britain’s longest-running medical drama, Casualty. The performer successfully brought two distinct characters to life across separate eras, playing Graham Wingate and Pat Sadler.
Michael’s Journey On EastEnders
Michael played Reverend George Stevens on the BBC soap. He used to spend over a decade officiating the neighbourhood’s major weddings, christenings and funerals. During his final duties on the Square, we saw the emotional graveside prayers for Ronnie Mitchell’s funeral. It happened after her tragic New Year’s Day drowinign with sister ROxy Mithcell.
Usually, most soap characters leave with huge drama. However, Reverend Steven’s departure was completely amicable. In his final scenes, he shared a heartwarming scene with Dot Cotton. In fact, he informed Dot that he was officially returning from the ministry. Also, he would be moving across the world to live with his daughter in Australia.

Elsewhere, the actor was a part of 54 distinct episodes across multiple blocks. Unfortunately, we lost the superstar on 26th April this year at the age of 79 after battling dementia. But his news spread in the month of May.
