EE/Ross reveals the soap was his hardest role.

Ross Kemp Reveals EastEnders Is His HARDEST Role, But WHY?

Ross Kemp recently opened up about his latest return to EastEnders. The actor admitted that Albert Square remains more ‘intimidating’ than any war zone he has ever visited. Elsewhere, he returns to play Grant Mitchell after many decades since his original debut.

Also, facing dangerous situations in his documentary career is one thing. But he finds the emotional demands of the BBC soap to be his toughest challenge. Keep scrolling to learn more.

Ross Kemp Reveals Facing The Fear Of Walford

Ross recently admitted that returning to Albert Square is more fearful than reporting from global war zones. We have seen the actor dodging sniper fire in his documentary career. However, he says that the emotional demands of playing Grant Mitchell were his toughest challenge.

Kemp will be making a guest stint which is centred on a “race against time” to support his family during a medical crisis. It has been nearly three decades since his original exit. Yet, Ross says that the soap is still the one that pushes me the most compared to real-life danger.

The actor has already faced baddies with guns in Papua New Guinea and Syria. Despite that, the scripted vulnerability of his iconic character is more intimidating for him. Also, the major factor in his return was the chance to work with Steve McFadden again. He praised his costar as “still brilliant” at balancing aggression with emotions.

We will see Grant “heaving with tears” when he visits his dying friend, Nigel Bates. Also, Ross noted that scenes were not difficult to film due to a private real-life upset. It includes his own mother, who appeared while on set. Hence, this became the necessary creative spark that the hardman finally signed up for the short-term storyline.

EastEnders: Grant Mitchell Wants To Reconnect With Mark Fowler Jr

The main motive for Grant’s comeback is Grant’s desire to reconnect with his biological son, Mark. We know that the hardman has only met the young man ‘once’ before. Hence, the father is desperate to see his son and sees this trip as a first step towards a great relationship.

EE/Grant will return next week.

Mark was the one who had begged him to come back to help a struggling Phil. Elsewhere outside of his work on the BBC soap, Kemp is planning a “three-men-in-a-boat” adventure with McFadden and Paul Bradley. The trio want to take a 72-foot fishing vessel down the Thames for a nice dinner together.

And Kemp feels that it is something gentlemen of their age should be doing. Meanwhile, are you excited to see the beloved hardman reunite with the Mitchells? Let us know in the comments section. For more EastEnders spoilers and updates, keep following Soap Opera Daily.
