Jacob Young, known for his roles in beloved soap operas like The Bold and the Beautiful and General Hospital, is stepping back from the small screen to focus on his dreams and family. In an exclusive interview with Soap Opera Digest, Jacob shared his thoughts on his future in daytime television and his exciting adventures beyond acting.
With over 2,000 episodes of soap operas under his belt since the age of 17, Jacob admitted feeling worn out from the demanding schedule. “By giving up that regular work, I found that I was able to create all the passions and dreams for other people at the same time,” Young explained.
For him, doing other things and spending time with family is more important than being on camera. His latest project, “Four for Fun,” a movie starring Brytni Sarpy, is set to premiere at the Golden State Film Festival. And that’s not it; Jacob is also trying his hand at directing with a cool project featuring Joan Collins.
Along with his former All My Children co-star Trent Garrett, The Bold and the Beautiful former actor, Jacob runs a company called Next Generation Storytellers, where they teach high schoolers about filmmaking. Even though he’s been successful in daytime TV, Jacob isn’t rushing back to soap operas.
“I’m glad to be able to live out my dreams and still be here for my wife and kids,” he emphasized. Grateful for the opportunities he’s had, Jacob counts his blessings every day. His decision to step away from daytime TV reflects a desire for balance and fulfillment beyond acting.
