The Bold and the Beautiful: Tanner Discusses Sheila’s Antics!
The Bold and the Beautiful star Tanner Novlan shed light on the whole situation in a chat with Soaps.com. “Steffy’s hard line woke Finn up. He doesn’t choose to attend the wedding” of his murderous Biological Mother and her ex-con fiancé.” However, Novlan explains how Finn was perplexed about the choice of grabbing his pizza and running or staying and supporting his mom.
Ultimately, Finn chooses what he thinks is the lesser evil. Finn knew he should just leave but stayed to avoid setting Sheila off and to support Deacon’s attempt to reform her. Also, Finn intended to keep Steffy in the dark about everything. Tanner noted, “He has to know that “displeased” won’t even begin to cover her reaction.” But “of course he tells her,” he says. This shocking decision led to a dramatic episode where Steffy’s anger hit the roof.
According to Novlan, Finn is truly stuck between a rock and a hard place on The Bold and the Beautiful. He explained that Finn would always prioritize Steffy and his family, but he is working on sorting out these feelings involving Sheila. “He knows Steffy is sensitive to anything [related to] Sheila, so he communicates these feelings as delicately as possible.” Initially, Finn hoped he could have a relationship with Sheila without affecting his marriage to Steffy.
However, Novlan highlighted that Finn has started to see through Sheila’s facade. Finn realizes how she manipulates his compassion. He is sure that the longer this goes on, the more it will creates a wedge between him and Steffy. Novlan added, “He doesn’t want to risk damaging his marriage, but he wants to keep them safe from Sheila and support her.” Tanner thinks his character knows how dangerous it is when she feels completely shut out.
Subsequently, Finn wants to break this vicious cycle on The Bold and the Beautiful. Throughout this challenging time, Finn has leaned on Hope, who understands what dealing with a parent’s reform is like. Additionally, Tanner emphasizes how close the duo has grown. “It has been nice for Finn to talk through his issues with someone who’s been there before,” he notes. When asked about the romantic angle between Finn and Hope, Novlan suggests it’s one-sided, if at all.
He clarified, “I don’t think he sees anything more serious than [friendship]. As for Hope, I can’t say.” Given the brewing conflict between Steffy and Hope, anything could happen, and if we were betting, we’d say it probably will!
