He wrote about the disagreement over bridesmaid dresses before his wedding and also revealed that the two couples eventually stopped sharing the same communications team at the palace.
Harry also recalled an uncomfortable moment before the wedding when Meghan asked Kate if she could borrow her lip gloss. He wrote: “All this came on the heels of an awkward moment backstage. Meg asked to borrow Kate’s lip gloss. An American thing. Meg forgot hers, worried she needed some, and turned to Kate for help. Kate, taken aback, went into her handbag and reluctantly pulled out a small tube. Meg squeezed some onto her finger and applied it to her lips.
Harry continued: “Kate grimaced. Small clash of styles, maybe? Something we should’ve been able to laugh about soon after. But it left a little mark. And then the press sensed something was up and tried to turn it into something bigger. Here we go, I thought sorrowfully.”
The Relationship Looks Very Different Today
Even though things later changed, Kate and William were very happy when Harry and Meghan announced their engagement in 2017. The royal couple publicly welcomed Meghan into the family, and many people believed the four royals would work closely together for years to come.
