The Young and The Restless Recap for May 05, 2026: WHO IS HE?! Matt Clark WAKES UP With Amnesia As Phyllis Gets ARRESTED and Victor Throws Michael Out

The Young and The Restless Recap for May 05, 2026 delivered a Tuesday that Genoa City will be processing for days. Christine showed up at Phyllis’s office with an officer and the perp walk nobody asked for. Victor threw Michael out of the ranch with the kind of fury only Victor Newman can summon. Nick sat down with Nikki and finally told her the truth about the opioids. And somewhere in a Vegas diner, Matt Clark stared at a keycard and asked himself who on earth he was. Tuesday had everything.

Christine Arrested Phyllis, and the Gloves Came Off

Christine walked into Summers Conglomerate with an officer and zero apology. Phyllis rolled her eyes. Honestly, relatable. The verbal sparring that followed was sharp, and neither woman held anything back. Phyllis called Christine a smart woman and wondered aloud why she would subject herself to such humiliation by carrying Victor’s water. Christine was unmoved. The officer took Phyllis away.

Lauren arrived just in time to watch Phyllis get hauled toward the elevator. She immediately vowed to call Michael. Phyllis told her not to bother since Michael had already shown where his loyalties lay. Lauren called him anyway. Good for her. Later at Crimson Lights, Lauren pushed Michael to do the right thing and get Phyllis out of this mess. He eventually agreed. Then he went to the ranch to tell Victor personally, which was either very brave or spectacularly unwise.

The Young and The Restless Recap: Victor Threw Michael Out and Nick Caught the Fallout

Michael told Victor he would represent Phyllis. Victor’s response was immediate and unambiguous. He called it a betrayal. He told Michael that crossing this line meant there was no coming back. Michael held firm and said everyone deserved a defense. Victor told him to take his creed and get out of his house. Nick stood nearby, looking like a man who deeply regretted being in the room.

After Victor’s eruption, Michael posted Phyllis’s bail and met her back at Summers Conglomerate with Lauren. The conversation turned to what Christine would do if this case reached a courtroom. Michael warned her plainly that Christine would go for the jugular and that without returning the company, Phyllis’s case rested entirely in Christine’s hands. Not exactly a pep talk.

Nick Finally Told Nikki the Truth About the Opioids

At Society, Nick sat down with Nikki and came completely clean. He admitted that Sienna believed she had killed Matt, but that he would be sleeping with one eye open until someone confirmed it. Then he told Nikki the part he had been carrying quietly. After his pain prescription ran out, he started using opioids. It got bad. Adam noticed. Matt made it worse by giving him a tainted batch.

Nikki’s eyes filled with tears, and she blamed herself for missing the signs. Nick told her Sharon had already pointed him toward a treatment program and that he was committed. He also tried to nudge Nikki toward forgiving Victor, gently suggesting a conversation. Nikki shut that down quickly. She was only at the ranch to ride her horse, and she made that very clear when she showed up later.

The Young and The Restless Recap: Matt Clark Is Alive, in Vegas and Has No Idea Who He Is

Sienna sat with Sharon and Noah and walked through every detail of what happened in the desert. She described hitting Matt with a rock. Hitting him again when he moved. Checking for a pulse and finding nothing. She was convinced he was dead. Sharon was not entirely sold and pushed for location details. Sienna recalled something that looked like a waterpark nearby and began to panic at the thought of being wrong.

She was wrong. In a Vegas diner, Matt Clark sat very much alive with a gash on his head and his pockets emptied onto the table. He held up a Genoa City Athletic Club keycard and asked the waitress how far away it was. She clarified he was still in Vegas. Matt stared at the card and said it out loud. He needed to figure out what happened to him and who he even was. The man has amnesia. Genoa City has no idea what is coming back for it.

The Young and The Restless Recap for May 05, 2026 ended with a twist that resets the entire board. Matt Clark with his memory intact was already terrifying. Matt Clark with amnesia and a keycard pointing him toward Genoa City is a completely different kind of problem. Nobody in that city is safe and nobody knows it yet. Keep up with every development as this week unfolds at Soap Opera Daily.
