Sarah Sugden had to undergo a hysterectomy during her cancer surgery. She knew that her dream of IVF would be shattered. However, seeing her sadness, Cain Dingle suggested surrogacy. However, due to her life-limiting condition of Fanconi Anaemia, it was clear that the agencies wouldn’t help her. Though Charity was against it, she urged Victoria to become the surrogate. But she didn’t agree. Then, Charity decided to become the surrogate herself.
Meanwhile, Emma Atkins, who plays the character of Charity Dingle, said that her character doesn’t step back easily. So her character went ahead and had the tests to see if she was eligible. However, she didn’t about it to her husband Mackenzie Boyd. Meanwhile, before she could reveal anything, Eric Pollard, who was concerned about his grandson, Jacob, told Mack about Charity’s surrogacy. Eric didn’t want Jacob to be a part of the plan.

Charity got overwhelmed and sent Sarah and Jacob out of the hospital. Mackenzie grabbed his chance to talk to her while Charity also opened up about her concerns.
