Tim Metcalfe’s painful past comes back into focus in Coronation Street next week as he finally stops avoiding the truth about his relationship with Trisha. After spending months refusing to believe he had been abused as a teenager, Tim reaches a turning point when he opens up to Will Driscoll about his own experience. But while trying to stop Will from making a dangerous mistake, Tim also prepares himself for an emotional confrontation with the woman from his past.
Tim Starts Seeing The Truth About Trisha
Coronation Street’s ongoing storyline has been exploring changing attitudes towards inappropriate relationships, with Tim Metcalfe at the centre of the drama. When Trisha returned towards the end of last year, Tim looked back on their relationship positively. He even described her as an old flame while speaking to Sally Metcalfe and Brian Packham.
Tim recalled the relationship with a smile on his face and openly spoke about how Trisha took his virginity when she was 20 and he was only 14. However, Sally and Brian immediately recognised the situation as abuse. They tried to make Tim understand that he had been groomed.
Despite their concerns, Tim refused to see Trisha as a predator for a long time. Only in recent weeks did things begin to change after he noticed disturbing similarities between his own past and Will Driscoll’s relationship with Megan Walsh. Watching Will’s situation unfold forced Tim to finally reconsider what really happened to him as a teenager.
Will’s Secret Plan Sparks Panic in Coronation Street
Next week, Sally heads to the cab office and tells Steve McDonald that Tim still has not spoken to Trisha directly. However, Tim soon finds himself distracted by concerns over Will.
Tim agrees to give Will a lift to the train station. However, he is unaware that the teenager has secretly been planning to leave and start a new life in France. Meanwhile, the Driscoll family believe Will is simply preparing to move to Scotland to stay with his mum Melanie.
Things quickly become suspicious when Tim learns the Glasgow train has been cancelled. But Will still insists they continue to the station anyway. Back at home, Ben Driscoll suddenly realises Will’s passport is missing. Panicked, he rushes to find Steve and begs him to contact Tim immediately and make sure Will does not leave his sight.
Tim Makes A Heartbreaking Admission
During the journey, Tim decides to open up to Will in the hope of helping him understand the danger of the situation. Speaking honestly, Tim admits that he now understands the reality of the relationship. He tells Will that technically he was “a victim of rape.”
Tim’s emotional confession appears to have a huge impact on Will. Later in the week, Will begins discussing the possibility of reporting Megan to the police. He suggested that Tim’s words may have finally helped him see the truth about his own relationship.
The conversation also gives Tim the courage to face his own past properly at last. He later tells Sally that he is done waiting for Trisha to reply to his messages. Tim plans to track her down at work instead. When Tim finally comes face-to-face with Trisha, he bravely tells her that she abused him at just 14.
But with the truth finally out in the open, the big question now is how Trisha will react to Tim’s accusation. Stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily for more Coronation Street spoilers and behind-the-scenes updates.
