The caption referenced the ITV comedy Benidorm, where the two actors crossed paths away from the cobbles. Fans loved seeing the pair together in another setting while still connected through their Coronation Street family ties. The post also reminded viewers of the strong legacy Archie left behind in Weatherfield through his son George.

George Continues Archie’s Legacy In Weatherfield

George Shuttleworth eventually inherited the family business after Archie passed away in 2018. While George did not appear during Archie’s original years on the soap between 2002 and 2010, he arrived in Weatherfield in 2020 carrying plenty of stories and memories about his father.

George has always spoken warmly about Archie and clearly takes pride in continuing the Shuttleworth family name. He inherited not just Shuttleworth’s Independent Funeral Services but also his father’s professional manner and dedication to the local community. But now, there’s another bump on the road for him.

Coronation Street recently launched a dramatic whodunnit storyline after Theo Silverton was killed during the soap’s “Murder Week.” Theo’s death shocked Weatherfield and immediately left several residents under suspicion, including George Shuttleworth.

George became one of the key suspects after his girlfriend Christina Boyd discovered blood stains on the jumper he wore on the night Theo died. Christina later took the jumper to the laundrette after spotting the blood. Detectives eventually arrested George as the investigation intensified.
