EastEnders is preparing for its 40th anniversary next year, and a special live episode is the centrepiece of the celebration. We know several old faces have recently made their comeback on the soap, and now we think that Danny might also receive a phone call from soap bosses. The actor left the BBC programme after a nine-year stint with his character disappearing into the sea after saving Janine and Linda.
However, Mick was never found dead and a body was never discovered, leading to constant rumours that he could be back on the BBC soap very soon. Now, Danny has directly addressed the possibility of him finally making a return to the show. While speaking at KISS Breakfast Radio Show, Dyer said that he would love to return. He mentioned, ‘I would be up for going back for the 40th anniversary, but nobody’s contacted me.’

The beloved soap star also spoke about the storyline that could bring his character back and highlighted, “I think I need to go back and save my wife Linda, who’s now become a murderess. It does worry me a bit.” We would love to see Mick becoming a knight in shining armour for Linda. Even though Danny shared his opinion that Mick was indeed dead, one viewer on social media said, “Mick could come back, but he might just be a ghost. Linda sees him or something.”
As of now, The actor is currently starring in the new drama series Rivals, where he plays the role of Freddie Jones. He is sharing the screen with actress Emily Atack on the show.
