General Hospital fans are buzzing with excitement as they wonder if William Lipton, who portrayed the beloved Cameron Webber, could be making his grand return to Port Charles. After his departure from General Hospital in May 2023, fans have missed the character of Cameron, whose emotional journey left a lasting impression.
Lipton’s portrayal of Cameron, especially during his heartbreaking breakup with Josslyn, made the character one fans could easily root for. But now, with some changes in his life, is it possible that he might come back?

Meanwhile, Emma (Braedyn Bruner) has mentioned rekindling her childhood friendship with Cameron, and Trina (Tabyana Ali) would no doubt welcome her old friend back with open arms.
For Elizabeth, having one of her sons return would be a welcomed relief. With a constantly changing Port Charles and relationships in flux, Cameron’s return would make perfect sense. Not to mention, things could get interesting if Cameron comes back with a new love interest, potentially sparking jealousy between him and Josslyn, who is currently single. A potential love triangle could shake things up, especially with Cameron’s childhood crush on Emma still lingering in the background.
William Lipton’s Musical Journey: Can He Find Time for General Hospital?
While fans are eagerly hoping for Cameron’s return, it’s important to note that Lipton has a busy schedule. His band, The Runarounds, may have lost their show, but they’re currently on tour through June. So if a return happens, it may take some time before Lipton has the opportunity to reprise his role.
That being said, Lipton has previously returned to General Hospital for important events. He made a return for Spencer’s (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) funeral and visited Port Charles during Christmas 2024, bringing his new girlfriend along. His connection to the show and his fans remains strong.
Fans are ready for Cameron to return to General Hospital. With the show evolving, the time could be right for him to reconnect with his family and the residents of Port Charles.
