The startling news of Coronation Street Star, Joseph Wandera, has fans in a state of shock. The 27-year-old actor played a car buyer on the ITV soap. In a heartbreaking incident, the upcoming promising performer collapsed at a dance festival in Costa Rica. Reports suggest that the condition was caused by a cocktail of drugs that he injected.
The incident happened in January 2024, and the drugs caused Joseph Wandera to suffer a seizure at the dance festival. Many efforts were made to revive the actor but failed. Eventually, he passed away in an apartment at the Tamarindo beach resort. On September 18, 2024, Joseph’s mother expressed shock at Rochdale Coroners’ Court, when she learned that her son had injected drugs.
It is said that Joseph had consumed a cocktail of drugs, and had confided to his girlfriend that he injected a mysterious or designer drug called the Pink Stuff, “While at a party, Joseph rang his girlfriend and explained that he did not feel well. He had lost sight in one eye and lost sensation in the left side of his body,” coroner officer Kathy Dixon told the inquest.
Furthermore, she added that the Coronation Street actor had also called a friend who eventually picked him up and took him back to their apartment. Joseph then slept off the sofa. However, sometime later, his friend found him having a seizure. Unfortunately, he could not survive the effects.

Joseph had previously appeared on Corrie in 2018 and did a splendid job in the short but impactful role. He even took to his social media accounts to race about his part and experience on the ITV soap. It is truly heartbreaking that his life and journey came to an end so prematurely.
