Coronation Street spoilers are set to deliver a dramatic twist for Carla Connor as one of her relatives comes back to the cobbles. The new year has brought grave challenges for Carla—as she faced a major health challenge: sepsis. But complications arise when it damages her kidney—and puts her in an urgent need of a transplant. Family Tensions Build Up
This week, as the family wonders whether anyone can donate a kidney to Carla, Bobby, Carla’s nephew, decides to involve his father, Rob. Rob is currently serving time in jail, but Bobby decides to meet him secretly to inform him about Carla’s dire situation. During their meeting next week, Rob reveals his new-found religion and agrees to donate his kidney, assuming he’s a match.
In the upcoming episodes, Ryan Connor suggests to Bobby that, considering his history, Carla would never accept a kidney from Rob. But when he goes to meet his dad in jail, he himself ends up in a hostage situation. Bobby and his dad’s conversation is cut short when Matty Radcliffe creates a commotion in the visiting room. All of a sudden, Matty pulls out a knife and threatens the prison guards- and soon after, terrified Bobby finds himself in a hostage situation.
Carla Reconsiders Her Decision
Eventually, Lisa learned about the situation and informed Carla, who was shocked by this secret visit. Later, we see her telling Betsy that her brother is a murderer and is just trying to manipulate Carla’s feelings. By the end of the week, we will see Carla at the hospital telling Bobby that this new-found religion is one of Rob’s acts and that she will never trust him.
Though Carla agrees to meet Rob, the prospect of accepting a kidney brings additional complications as the week progresses. She learns that undergoing the transplant operation privately would be costly. She is shocked to know the cost of around £100,000 due to the costs involved in treating a prisoner.
