It became a piece of major news in soap circles when reports revealed that actor Sean Wilson was returning to Coronation Street as part of Gail Platt’s exit storyline. Many media portals reported that the stint was to happen in Autumn of 2024. However, in August 2024, news broke that Sean Wilson would not be returning to the ITV soap.
While some sources claimed that the soap had axed the actor, many others claimed that Sean Wilson had himself stepped down from Coronation Street due to some personal reasons. Which of the two angles is true? We guess we will never know. But what we do know is that Sean has now locked in his next project, and a rather exciting one at that!
The soap star is going on tour for a stage show with TV chef and former I’m A Celeb star Rosemary Shrager. As a fun fact, apart from his acting career, Sean also runs a cheese company! Perhaps, this is what has formed the basis of his collaboration with Rosemary, as the show will focus on food.
The first half of their show will consist of a chat and also cover an audience Q&A, taking questions from the audience, while the second half will be a cook-off, in which the two chalk-and-cheese experts will showcase their succulent skills, with mouth-watering recipes and hot tips that the audience can try at home. The production for the show is slated to begin in February next year, and the show will travel around the UK.
Just in case any fans were severely disappointed by Sean not returning to Corrie, can still catch him on the screen once the show goes on air! Talking about Corrie, after Sean stepped down from the soap, actor John Thomson stepped in as another returning character and reprised his past role of Jesse Chadwick. He is going to be playing a major role in Gail’s exit storyline. However, what exactly the story is, we’ll have to wait and find out!
