Previously, The Barlow family welcomed Cassie Plummer into their home as Ken’s carer, recall Coronation Street Spoilers. They eagerly accepted Cassie’s wish to work as Ken’s carer as he needed one after his scary fall, and the costs of hiring a professional carer were rather steep. So, hiring Cassie was a win-win situation for the Barlows and the lady herself.
However, Ken was not very on board with the idea initially. Perhaps his doubts stemmed from Cassie Plummer’s dubious history. It is no secret that she is a recovering drug addict. Moreover, she is known for having conceived many deceptive plans and schemes. Surprisingly, once Cassie did become Ken’s carer, the two started to get along quite well.
Despite the visibly good rapport, Cassie Plummer had begun to feel done with her job. Coronation Street spoilers reveal that in a recent episode, she even expressed her desire to quit as Ken’s carer. However, later that day she overheard Ken’s conversation about having won £50k on premium bonds.
Upon finding out about the large sum of money, Cassie quickly whipped out her apron and got down to work once again. Later, she informed Steve that she had changed her mind about quitting, as she did not want to disappoint Ken. But is that really the case? We have known Cassie Plummer for a long time, and her deceptive habits are proof that she could very well be eyeing Ken’s money.

Perhaps this was the very reason she took up the job in the first place. It is possible that she decide to quit when she realised that she wasn’t quite getting anywhere with her intentions of skimming Ken’s funds. But with the bond money coming into the picture, her hopes may have renewed!
