While he was recently convicted of 34 counts in his hush-money case, Trump has something to say for Taylor Swift. In his forthcoming book “Apprentice in Wonderland: How Donal Trump and Mark Burnett Took America Through the Looking Glass,” he shared his views on the songstress Taylor Swift.
During an interview with Variety co-editor-in-chief Ramin Setoodeh, who later wrote the book, Trump called Swift the biggest celebrity of his time. The former US President continued that Taylor Swift “got a great star quality,” and he meant that. While Taylor Swift is undoubtedly talented, Trump is more into the singer’s appearance.
In the book, Donald Trump says that he finds Taylor Swift “very beautiful.” He adds, “I think she’s very beautiful, actually—unusually beautiful!” Trump said that he heard Taylor Swift was very talented, and there’s no denying that. He even found her liberal. However, the star-turned-Republican politician doubted Taylor Swift’s “liberal act.”
Donald Trump believed that it might be an act. He asked Setoodeh, “It’s not an act?” Well, Donald Trump has plenty of questions regarding Taylor Swift’s legitimacy as a liberal. He has no idea how a country star can be successful in being liberal. Taylor Swift and Donald Trump have a history of rivalry, and the credit goes to the 2020 election.
Taylor Swift Entered Politics
Taylor Swift surprised everyone when she publicly endorsed Jim Cooper for House of Representatives and Tennessee Democratic candidate Phil Bredesen in October 2018. This was shockingly surprising for Taylor Swift’s fans and Donald Trump. That was because the Bad Blood singer had been rumored to be conservative regarding her political views.
Soon, however, Taylor took to Instagram to justify her act. She said she wasn’t vocal about her political opinions in the past. However, several such events took place in the past, which let her change her mind. Taylor Swift added that she had always cast votes for the deserving candidate. Her rumored battle with Donald Trump didn’t end there.
In 2019, Taylor Swift announced her song You Need to Calm Down, which was supposed to be inspired by Donald Trump. Later, in her January 2020 documentary, “Miss Americana,” Swift opened up about her political views. She even supported Joe Biden over Donald Trump.
Interestingly, Taylor Swift told Vanity Fair in 2021 that Donald Trump’s presidency forced her to educate herself more about politics. As a country musician, she was told to stay out of politics. However, Swift changed her perspective.
