Swifties danced so energetically and in a rhythm at Murrayfield Stadium that they caused seismic activity.
Yes, you read that right! BGS reported that the seismic activity was recorded from 6 km (or 3.7 miles) away. BGS also cited that the events were detected by sensitive scientific instruments designed to detect minor changes in seismic activity even miles away. While something huge happened during the Eras Tour, the U.K.’s national earthquake monitoring agency stated that the three shows in Scotland City were the most energetic ever.
Taylor Swift played three shows over the weekend, with Friday recording 23.4 nanometers of movement. Meanwhile, Saturday and Sunday’s Eras Tour Shows were quite close, coming in at 22.8 and 23.3 nm, respectively. There’s no denying that Swifites’ excitement and enthusiasm have no match.
BGS reported that three of Taylor Swift’s songs‘ performances have caused significant changes in the seismic recording. These are “Ready For It?”, “Champagne Problems,” and “Cruel Summer.” But that doesn’t end here. Swift’s all-time favorite bangers are also on the list. These are “Shake It Off,” “Getaway Car,” and “But Daddy I Love Him.”
The BGS became more precise and reported that on Friday, “Ready For It?” generated 160 bpm (beats per minute), which can roughly generate around 80 kW of power. That is approximately equal to 10 to 16 car batteries. Impressive, right? But there is nothing to fret about here! The vibrations were only felt by those in the immediate vicinity, and it didn’t harm anyone.
But there’s one thing: nobody can beat Swifties in that. There’s no brainer in that, as Swifties bested Seattle Seahawks fans back in 2011. If you remember, the NFL player’s fans triggered seismic activity equivalent to a 2.0 earthquake, which is popularly known as “Beast Quake.” However, Taylor Swift is doing her best to change it to “Swift Quake,” and her fans can totally agree with that.
While Taylor Swift’s fans have already done their part, Swift penned a sweet note on Monday on her Instagram. She said, “Edinburgh!!! You truly blew me away this weekend.” The Bad Blood singer also thanked the concertgoers for breaking the all-time attendance record. According to reports, around 73,000 people attended the concert, making it the most attended in Scottish history. But sadly, the tour will end this December in Vancouver.
